Inner Mongolia: Kolqin Nature Reserve Welcomes Thousands of Rare Migratory Birds
CCTV News: Recently, the large lakes and wetlands in the northeastern part of Xing'an League, Inner Mongolia, have welcomed thousands of rare birds. In the Inner Mongolia Kolqin National Nature Reserve, the Scarlet Cranes, White Spoonbills, Little White Swans, Gray Geese, Bean Geese, Gray Herons, and Red Crested Pochard – ten rare bird species – are nesting by the lakes, sometimes foraging and playing, sometimes soaring with their wings. These migratory birds will continue to fly north in batches after staying for 20 days. The Kolqin National Nature Reserve covers more than 120,000 hectares, and its unique landform has created a diverse ecosystem, making it an important migratory channel for rare birds in East Inner Mongolia.
