Expert Reviews
In early 2004, a large group of dolphins appeared in the Sanlianguan Bay of Qinzhou, jumping and playing in the sea, which became a major news story in Guangxi and throughout China. Two months later, a man in his seventies from Beijing arrived at Sanlianguan Bay. This man, known as the 'Father of Pandas' and 'White-haired Leaf Monkey Professor', a famous rare animal research and protection expert, was immediately attracted by the lively dolphins and good ecological environment in Sanlianguan Bay. He and his research team established a Chinese White Dolphin Research Base in Sanlianguan Bay, and the marine area was regarded as an open laboratory for natural protection. 'I must mobilize the power of the whole society to protect the last group of young and healthy Chinese White Dolphins. Economic development and natural protection in Qinzhou Bay and Beibu Bay must achieve a win-win situation. This is my ultimate goal.' Professor Pan Wen Shi's determination and promise were resounding! Wu Shilin's reportage 'Pupu Yue Sanlianguan' tells the moving story of Professor Pan Wen Shi and the local Party committee and society, together with green development concepts, to protect Chinese White Dolphins and explore a win-win path of 'letting White Dolphins and industry coexist'.
