Tiny Cute Puppy Training: American 2-Month Golden Retriever Bullying Senior Dog, Customized Puppy Training Case
This owner is a Chinese immigrant from Los Angeles, USA. I was initially very puzzled, as there are so many dog trainers in the United States who offer on-site dog training. To be even less convenient, many pet stores have dog training courses that you can attend. You can simply send your dog there. I don't understand why someone would come all the way over to hire me for remote training.

The owner actually has two dogs – a large Akita Inu named Luna, whom everyone calls 'someone else's dog,' and she's been raising her for many years with a gentle and docile temperament. The newly arrived golden retriever, Cheese, is very mischievous, constantly running around and chewing, and even bullying Luna. Because Luna's personality is stable, the owner suddenly felt a bit at a loss when faced with this mischievous little devil, so she hoped to improve Cheese's problem through training.
First, I explained to the owner a very important point: dogs rely on instinct, but many of their natural behaviors are 'bad habits' from a human perspective. We need to guide and correct them to make them into well-behaved dogs that meet human social norms. You can't train a dog to be mute; that's simply not possible. Once the dog's nature is understood, we need to establish rules for the dog!

2-month-old Cheese is a blank sheet of paper! Let's establish rules for it!
Stop Cheese from bullying old dog Luna
When you have one puppy and one old dog at home, it's particularly easy for this situation to occur. The puppy is full of energy and constantly bothering the old dog. When the owner just prepared to start training, I saw Cheese gnawing on Luna's dog tag through the camera. If Cheese bullies the old dog but the old dog is unable to resist, I advise the owner to put Cheese on a leash.

Change Cheese's bad habits from feeding. Previously, the owner fed both dogs simultaneously, which led to Cheese always trying to steal food from the other dog. During Luna's mealtime, the owner can put Cheese on a leash to limit its movement. If Cheese gets excited and tries to snatch food, immediately pull it back. Reward it after it calms down.
Other complex puppy rule setting
Puppy rule setting is inherently a very complex training project, involving all aspects of the puppy's life. In the following time, I explained to the owner including designated potty breaks, prohibiting jumping on people, correct entry and exit of the cage, stopping begging for food and barking, blocking puppy biting actions, prohibiting entry into the kitchen, and gate rules – many complex rules.

Through remote learning, the owner learned how to calmly guide the dog, block incorrect behaviors, and form good habits. The training effect was highly praised, and the effect was immediately noticeable – even the picky husband couldn't stop praising it. A trainer's ability to accurately identify the owner's problems and help the owner effectively correct their dog's bad habits is also a key ability. Thank you to this owner for recognizing my small and cute training philosophy.

Every puppy born lives according to its nature. It takes patience to turn it into a well-behaved pet dog.
