It is reported that Chaohai Mountain is a key ecological barrier for Jilin Province and Northeast China. The entire area adheres to the ‘green water and green mountains are gold mountains and silver mountains’ development concept. According to the requirements of the Jilin Province ‘resolutely win the battle of blue sky, pure water, green mountains, black soil and wetland protection’ , the Chaohai Mountain Border Management Detachment officers are practicing the mission of building a ‘green wall’. Every year when the weather gets warmer, the Chaohai Mountain Border Management Detachment police will jointly with the forestry department and local residents to form ‘ecological 110’ team, to promote and protect the ecological environment. The police pay attention to clearing illegal hunting tools in the forest, cracking down on all kinds of poaching activities. The detachment police actively participate in various environmental volunteer activities, hanging slogans and distributing environmental information on the mountain road, tourist channels and village, and popularizing policies and regulations. For 10 years, the Chaohai Mountain Border Management Detachment has directly or assisted relevant departments to catch more than 300 illegal poachers and rescue more than 380 heads and animals (species).
