The Two Pandas That Don't Belong to China, Sadly Unable to Return Home, Netizens Express Heartbreak!

With the continuous growth of China's economy, people's living standards have improved significantly, and people travel extensively during holidays. As China's influence on the international stage increases and its overall strength strengthens, more foreigners come to China for travel, and many foreigners come to China to experience China's national treasures, giant pandas.

Pandas are also known as one of the world's cutest animals, having survived on Earth for at least 8 million years, and are known as living fossils. They are also China's Level One Protected Animal and a unique species to China. Now, they mainly live in Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Gansu provinces.

Pandas have a very cute appearance, round and fluffy, with black and white fur, which is not only loved by the Chinese people but also considered cute by foreigners. Pandas have a docile personality, and many countries have requested to receive or lease them from China.

This has led to the evolution of many famous panda diplomacy events. In 1984, the International Law Convention stipulated that all pandas belong to China, including panda cubs born abroad. This means China cannot donate pandas as gifts to other countries.

According to statistics, currently there are 69 giant pandas living in 17 foreign countries, with 14 pandas in total at 4 zoos in the United States, ranking first in the world, and 11 pandas at 3 zoos in Japan, ranking second.

Due to the worsening environment and climate, the environment where pandas live faces strict and harsh requirements, so China decided to stop donating pandas without charge since 1982. Foreign media reports on panda diplomacy have also come to an end.

The most important reason is that pandas are very rare and valuable. Currently, pandas abroad are leased to China for commercial purposes. Each panda costs between $25 million and $100 million per year. No matter where they are, their international status belongs to China, and panda cubs must be returned to China after two years.

However, there are two pandas who do not belong to China, which makes many Chinese people very sad. In 1975, China donated a pair of pandas, Ying Ying and Bei Bei, to Mexico. These two pandas lived in the Chapultepec Zoo in Mexico, and had five cubs between 1980 and 1987.

Over time, these two pandas have died, leaving behind their children Xin Xin and Shuang Shuang, but these two female pandas cannot return to China because of the previous donation agreement. Since Xin Xin and Huan Huan have not produced any panda cubs, Mexico only has these two pandas besides them.

Now these two pandas are elderly and are under the meticulous care of the Mexican animal park, and their health is relatively good. Because they cannot reproduce, many netizens said they were very sorry!

And they hope that their future days can be peaceful. What do you think about this? Welcome to leave comments in the comment section below.
