Most ‘Hidden’ Attraction Within Shanxi Province, Accommodating 3,000 People, Comparable to Datong’s Hengshan Temple!
As a major tourist province, Shanxi naturally has many famous attractions, and Pingyao Ancient City is the first one. Many tourists to Shanxi come to it as their first destination. However, coming to Pingyao Ancient City has become a bit monotonous. Today, let's introduce a hidden gem in Shanxi, Yuelian Cave on Yunqiu Mountain.
I believe everyone is unfamiliar with Yunqiu Mountain, it is not very famous compared to Mount Wutai, and its popularity is much smaller. Some people don't even know that such a place exists. In fact, Yunqiu Mountain is a 4A scenic area here, with beautiful scenery, and it's not out of the question to call it a 'paradise lost' . Why is this? Yunqiu Mountain is famous for its rugged peaks, beautiful springs, and ethereal cloud seas, and it is also known as 'the first scenic spot on the Fen River'. The most famous attraction is Yuelian Cave. Yuelian Cave is in a very special location, it's located on a cliff face, a bit like Konghuang Temple in Datong.
Yuelian Cave is located above an ancient village. You can enter through One-Line Sky and see a building on the cliff. If you go deeper, you can see several Daoist temples. But if you observe carefully, you won't find a cave. According to locals, Yuelian Cave is not a cave, but a cliff. Because the shape of the cliff looks like a lotus flower, it's called Yuelian Cave.
Furthermore, Yuelian Cave is one of the origins of the Fullesson Sect, which is the Fullesson Sect that appears in 'The Legend of the Condor Heroes'. It is estimated that Yuelian Cave can accommodate 3000 people, plus the existence of these Daoist temples due to the natural barrier of Yuelian Cave.
This special cave is rare in China, so the scenery of Yuelian Cave is definitely worth seeing. Do you have any peculiar caves to recommend? Welcome to comment in the comment section below.
