Zagaquan: A Hidden Gem in the Deep Mountains of China
A netizen raised a question: Where would I like to go again? It reminded me of the beautiful and mysterious Zagaquan again.
The Great Motherland is vast, with magnificent mountains and rivers and rich human civilization. Everyone will have a place they once visited and want to see again. In fact, in recent years, some places I have visited more than once, for example, Mount Luoyan in the city of Luoyang, Henan Province, I went there 6 times, my friends joked that I went there 3 times. Even so, or earlier, or later, I still couldn't see the rhododendron blossoms at Mount Luoyan. Maybe one day I will go to Mount Luoyan again.
As for where I most want to go again, it has to be Zagaquan in Gan'an, Sichuan. Zagaquan is a town located in the Diebu County of the Gan Autonomous Region of Sichuan Province. It is a town. The terrain of Zagaquan is like a grand palace. The surrounding mountains are majestic and cloud-shrouded, resembling a fairyland. Connected chains of Tibetan villages are nestled at the foot of the mountains.
There, the dark mountains in the distance are so deep, and the blue sky is dotted with white clouds, which are very fresh; near the leisurely sheep and cattle look like pearls scattered on the green grassland, the Tibetan villagers in the village are relaxed and happy. Everything looks like a paradise on earth.
I first visited Zagaquan during the National Day holiday in 2016. Our group of several people took three SUVs from Guyi County, Shanxi Province, drove more than 1100 kilometers to Diebu City, and according to the itinerary, we were originally preparing to go to Zagaquan early in the morning, but because of the rain, we couldn't take the risk, so we took a detour to Sichuan Province's Flower Lake first. In the afternoon, we learned from the weather forecast that the rain in Zagaquan had stopped, so we decided to return to Zagaquan on the original route. When we stepped on the muddy ground to Zagaquan, the sky was already dark.
Fortunately, we had booked the Tibetan residence in advance, and when we arrived, the landlord was waiting for us at the door. After we settled down and washed up, a hot meal was already served at the table.
The next day, as soon as the sun peeked out, we couldn't help but rush out of the room with our cameras. Looking out, the earth was silvery white in the morning light. It turned out that while we were asleep last night, it had snowed quietly. Facing such beautiful scenery, the photographers were enthusiastic, and the 'click' sound of the camera was endless.
Amidst the 'click' sound, the sun gradually rose. As the temperature increased, the snow gradually melted, and the yellow-green grassland gradually appeared, which looked very pure. The evergreen pine trees in the misty morning mist were vaguely visible, which looked beautiful and a little mysterious. The surrounding mountains were misty and shrouded in mist, towering and majestic. The Tibetan village was quiet and peaceful, lying quietly in the embrace of nature, and smoke rose quietly. Looking at it, I was fascinated by the beauty before me, as if I had entered a giant oil painting, and I felt like I had become a part of the painting. At that moment, the camera in my hand was held for a while, and I forgot to press the shutter.
At noon, we ate lunch at the Tibetan family's home and had a chat with the landlord, which deeply touched us on the simplicity and kindness of the Tibetan people, and the Tibetan people's attitude of getting along with the world without contention, and the Tibetan people's way of life that respected nature. Our family lived in a prosperous house, the house was built quite exquisitely, and it was also very clean. What I envied most was that his four daughters had three of them who graduated from university, and the youngest daughter was in high school, and she was said to be studying well.
According to the itinerary, we left Zagaquan at around noon with a reluctant mood.
This time the trip to Zagaquan, although we came from thousands of miles away, it was so hurried that I couldn't help but linger for a long time after I returned. The beautiful scenery we didn't see enough, and we still lacked in-depth understanding of the people there, and there was a hope in our hearts to go to Zagaquan again.
Fortunately, Zagaquan is good! I'm confident, there will always be a day when I meet Zagaquan again.
