The largest railway station in Wuhan, due to its remote location, is largely unknown to many Wuhan residents.

This is Liu Xiao Shun's Travel and Life Institute.

Wuhan, located in the central region of China, is the capital of Hubei Province and the largest city in the central region. Wuhan boasts a strategically advantageous location and has long been known as 'The Gateway to Nine Provinces,' making it a crucial transportation hub in China, particularly in railway transport. Wuhan's position is of paramount importance.

As a significant railway transportation hub, Wuhan has numerous railway stations, and the naming conventions of Wuhan's stations differ from those of typical cities, often utilizing historical names such as Wuchang Station and Hankou Station. However, when it comes to Wuhan's largest railway station, one cannot ignore the newly built 'Wuhan Station'.

Wuhan Station is not only the largest railway station in Wuhan but also China's first high-speed railway station and one of the largest high-speed railway stations in China. Many travelers who travel by high-speed train have visited Wuhan Station or transferred through it. The station, with a cost of 14 billion, is magnificent and will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on every visitor.

However, due to Wuhan's unique geographical structure—the confluence of the Yangtze River and the Han River dividing the city into three parts: Wuchang, Hankou, and Han Yang, commonly known as the 'Three Towns of Wuhan,' which were essentially three ancient cities merged into one—the newly built Wuhan Station is considered quite remote for Wuhan residents.

Therefore, Wuhan residents will only go to Wuhan Station to take the train unless 'absolutely necessary.' They will instead prioritize Wuchang Station or Hankou Station. It's no wonder many Wuhan residents are unfamiliar with Wuhan Station; for example, if you ask a Wuhan resident where Wuhan Station is located within Wuhan City, most will say it's in Qingshan District. They even refer to Wuhan Station as 'Qingshan Station,' despite the fact that Wuhan Station is located in Hongshan District, bordering Qingshan District.
