In Shenzhen's Fast-Paced City, Hidden Gems Offer Tranquility Away from the Urban Hustle
The fast-paced life in Shenzhen can only be truly understood by those who have experienced it. Therefore, whenever taking a break, people often look for a place to relax. In Shenzhen, which is full of high-rise buildings and residential areas, there are many quiet places away from the hustle and bustle. As a 'deep-sea migrant' who has spent a year in Shenzhen, I particularly enjoy going to quiet places on weekends to escape the crowds, enjoy nature, and find a few places that are suitable for relaxation. Please recommend some places that I personally like for leisure.

Shenzhen Garden
Shenzhen International Horticultural Garden, also known as Shenzhen Garden, is a large municipal park integrating outdoor gardens and landscapes, flower exhibitions, public culture, art, architecture, tourism, and exhibitions. It has 101 garden attractions, each representing a different human history. Visiting Shenzhen Garden feels like admiring a hundred beautiful paintings.

The garden has a lot of vegetation, and as soon as you enter, you see lush greenery. There are bamboo forests, lotus ponds, and various unfamiliar trees. There are also many ancient buildings, such as pavilions, bridges, and mansions. Some of them are like private gardens in ancient times. In addition to trees and ancient buildings, there are also many flowers growing everywhere, blooming in different seasons.
Because Shenzhen Garden has many ancient buildings, it attracts many photographers and antique enthusiasts to shoot and play. We, who want to find a quiet place, also love it. When taking photos, we often take pictures in ancient bridges, ancient buildings, or in the trees. Then we adjust the color to make a beautiful picture.

You can miss the lake cruise and kite flying on the lawn, but don't miss climbing the Lotus Mountain Viewing Platform. Walking along the winding mountain paths, while enjoying the scenery and exercising. Standing on the viewing platform at the top of Lotus Mountain, leaning against the granite railings, overlooking the nearby Futian Central District, you can feel like 'climbing to the top of the world, surveying all the mountains'. Looking at the modern city buildings, you will feel even more 'when facing the wind, I am willing to be a sword' . Especially at night, blowing the mountain wind, breathing fresh air, overlooking the city's night view below, it's beautiful!

Guanyan Printing Village

Guanyan Printing Village is one of the top ten Hakka villages in Shenzhen. It has a history of over 100 years. The village still maintains a rustic village style and has a rich humanistic atmosphere and artistic atmosphere. The buildings are typical Hakka-style houses, built on the hillside and beside the water. There are water ponds, ancient wells, ancestral halls, and watchtowers, which are ancient and elegant. The village is surrounded by tall trees, including coconut trees, mango trees, and trees, creating a paradise-like environment. The village is quiet and charming.

Currently, there are not many people living in the village, mainly printing studios and small shops. The atmosphere is peaceful and quiet, a good place for relaxation. Guanyan Printing Village is located in Huiluo Community, Wuluku Village, Longhua District, Shenzhen. It is a bit far from the city center. You need to take a bus for about an hour. There are direct buses from Longhua to Guanyan. It is recommended to spend one day to visit.

Inside Guanyan Printing Village, there are also some fields growing vegetables and fruits, and rice paddies. You can feel like you are in the countryside. When it's time to eat, you can see smoke from the houses in the distance. It's like a watercolor painting. We walked through the village, passed through the Hakka houses, and were attracted by some unique archways and windows. This is a good place to take photos and enjoy quiet time. You can also see the works of the printmakers and buy some prints as souvenirs or decorations.

At this mountain area, you can rent a shared bicycle and ride in the village. You can enjoy the gentle breeze. Or you can sit under a big tree, close your eyes, and enjoy a moment of peace. Or you can go to a small shop, drink a beverage, and read a book until your eyes are tired, and then walk around the village.

Finally, I want to say that these three places suitable for leisure and relaxation in Shenzhen are difficult to find in this large city. However, these places are very suitable for those who want to find a space for themselves. By the way, these attractions are all free, and there are no additional fees.
