Free and Fun Self-Driving Destinations Near Beijing (Part 1)
I took a look at my today, I've covered most of the free attractions around Beijing and compiled them, they're mostly suitable for self-driving trips. No idle talk, no waste of words. Presenting the essentials, concise and to the point.
- Zhoutou Grand Canyon - Wall Road
Located at the junction of Beijing and Hebei, if you live in Beijing, start from Menjuyuan village along the Meng River to Gongting Water Reservoir. This Wall Road is very narrow, with tunnels built manually and quite dark, the entire road is not conducive to passing cars. Cliffs(I personally prefer to call it a deep gorge… Cliffs is a bit of an exaggeration)Below is the Yongding River. This road is not easy to drive on, it's all gravel. The road is not easy to drive on. I recommend two-wheeled vehicles for riding, cars are not recommended. It's also not recommended to go alone, the deep gorges are easy to get lost, it's better to have a simple tire repair tool. In general, it has a strong sense of freshness, and will trigger a desire to come back.

- Pingyi Glass Terrace Scenic Area
Pingyi Yellowguan Road is a road created with ecological concepts, it connects Yanjishan, Golden Lake and other attractions in a line. Looking down at Yellowguan Road, it's a nine-bend eighteen-bend mountain road scene. Here, many village uncles and aunts grow fruit trees in the summer, don't pick them randomly!
Pingyi Glass Terrace Scenic Area is really nine bends and eighteen bends!

Following this road to drive to the top of the mountain takes about twenty minutes. The winding road is very beautiful, and it also has the surprise of exploration. Here you can see Moonlight Lake.

Ma'ershan Scenic Area

You can see mountains and water, and remember the nostalgia of the countryside. I don't know why I say this… Ma'ershan's highest peak has an altitude of 1300, which trapped 39 people. When descending, they got lost and fortunately didn't become the fortyth person. It is recommended to drive here. If you want to climb, you can follow the hiking trail to the designated viewing platform and then overlook the scenery of Ma'ershan. Climbing is dangerous.

Red Well Road, Six Roads

These two roads are both popular routes on the internet. There is a lot of information about them online, and they don't need much introduction. They are also very popular self-driving routes for self-driving tours in Beijing. I came in March, which was quite cold at the time, and the flowers and trees hadn't grown. It looked a little desolate.

Yanshan Lake Scenic Area

From Beijing South Five Ring, drive there... The classic route is through Changchi Road, the 'armpit' bend! Riding uphill feels like traveling along the mountains. The curves are very dense, you can see beautiful scenery and also have the surprise of exploration. This is where you can see Moonlight Lake.

- Ming Thirteen Tombs
I brought Ming Thirteen Tombs here, I think it's just for filling out the numbers... I personally don't think the Ming Thirteen Tombs are very playable, and you need to pay separately to visit the tombs! Because you've been out and about, it's just to fill out the numbers... It's worth visiting, and it takes a lot of time to explore.
