Guangdong Travel: Xiaochuan Island - Hidden Paradise Beach Island (No Cars!)
There are many beach lines in Guangdong, and I personally feel that the island is suitable for travelers who prefer quiet trips.
I recommend Xiaochuan Island, located in Teangshi, Kaohsiung, which is part of the Chinese Overseas Town area. It is surrounded by 14 small islands and islets, including Wangfu Island, Huangchu Island, Yingzhou Island, and Huazhou... with an average annual temperature of 23 degrees Celsius. The main tourist area is Wangfu Island, with convenient accommodation, transportation, and facilities.
To reach Xiaochuan Island, you need to drive or take a bus to Shanju Tourism Pier in Teangshi, then take the Xiaochuan Island cruise to Xiaochuan Island, which takes about 45 minutes. Then, you can take island buses to and from Wangfu Island. Wangfu Island is located about 1 nautical mile east of South Sea Bay and is adjacent to the Wangfu Island Tourist Center. The island has a scenic coastline with green hills and pleasant climate.
The main way to explore the island is on foot, and there are no private vehicles on the island, only quiet beaches and idyllic villages. If you want to cycle around the island, the island offers electric cars for tourists to choose from for sightseeing tours.
Xiaochuan Island's coconut groves are also a highlight.
Coconut groves are a major feature of Xiaochuan Island. Due to the island's temperature, sunlight, and salinity, which are similar to those in Hainan, coconut trees grow very easily here, and the fruits are juicy and thick-fleshed.
A 1600-meter-long coconut grove provides a wonderful experience of the sea breeze and poetic scenery.
Chawan Bay
Chawan Bay is located in the eastern part of Xiaochuan Island, reachable by motorcycle or taxi from the Wangfu Island Resort area in about 30 minutes. You can also reach it by motorcycle or taxi from Duyu Wharf in about 15 minutes. The natural sandy beach is 3 kilometers long, with pine forests along the coast, offering fantastic sea views and attracting visitors.
Xiaochuan Island's cuisine is also a local specialty.
Xiaochuan Island's fishing grounds are vast, with abundant marine resources, producing 90+ types of seafood, including lobsters, shrimp, grouper, abalone, green shell snails, green crabs, emerald mussels, sea dragons, and sea horses.
