Another 'Rising Star' from Sichuan – North Emerges, Comparable to ( Ancient City)

As a Sichuan native, I believe that the 2008 earthquake is still fresh in everyone's memory, and for North, which wasn't the epicenter, it has undergone a profound transformation.

May 12, 2008, 14:28, is a date etched in the memory of all Chinese people – the Wenchuan earthquake. At that time, I was only in the sixth grade. For those of us who hadn't experienced the earthquake, we initially thought it was just a classmate kicking my chair. Little did we know, the outside world changed in an instant. The North service center's clock was frozen at 14:28, and the entire North county had become a wasteland. North Hotel and North Middle School collapsed, and countless lives were lost before the immense power of nature. Humans appeared so small and powerless in the face of nature. Now, it's 2020, twelve years have passed, but the scenes of that time are still vivid in my mind.

Today, the North that was affected by the earthquake is now known as Old North, and it has become a site of the Earthquake Ruins Museum. The original scene has been preserved, and the fault zone has turned roads into staircases. North Middle School is left with only a flagpole. All those who sacrificed their lives during the disaster. The surging water from the newly formed reservoir. When you witness all of this with your own eyes, your eyes will be moist, and your breath will be heavy.

Now, New North, built with the effort of the people of the whole country, has been developed into a national 5A-level scenic area – North Qiang Town Tourism District. With 'Banach' pedestrian street as the core, New North County has become the primary cultural and entertainment venue for people's leisure and tourism. 'Banach' is called the 'Pearl' of the new county. 'Banach' originally meant 'a place of trade' in the Qiang language. 'Banach' is composed of eight aspects: 'Qiang Charm North, Charming North, Creative North, Authentic North, Welcoming North, Night North, Dynamic North, Leisure North'. Here, through the setting of watchtowers, bridges, and small squares, a rich skyline has been formed. It allows people to feel the changes of Qiang culture from ancient times to the present. All the buildings here are made of stone and wood, although they are newly built, you can still feel the feeling of the old city, fully reflecting the architectural style of the North Qiang people. At the same time, this is also the North new county's tourism complex. When you walk on the stone streets of 'Banach', you will find performers singing and dancing Qiang brothers and sisters, holding delicious sausages, listening to the calls of merchants on both sides. This is like being in a Qiang cultural garden, feeling the Qiang culture. Here, you can taste bean curd, bean soup rice, pork stew, steamed dishes, grilled dishes, North old bacon, North buckwheat cold noodles, sorrowful cold noodles, spiral cold noodles, cold noodles, sorrowful tofu, etc. There is also a museum here, which can help you understand the history, original appearance and customs and culture of the Qiang people. Most importantly, you can feel the boundless love of the Party and the people of all ethnic groups in China, as well as overseas Chinese communities.
