Shengquan Lake (Xini City)

Xini City's Shengquan Lake, also known as Gaotang Reservoir, was built in 1958, covering an area of over 14,000 acres with a storage capacity of 27.3 million cubic meters. In the center of the lake is a man-made island with an area of 20 acres. The dam stretches for 5.3 kilometers.

Xini City enjoys a subtropical climate. Shengquan Lake has a summer that is not hot and a winter that is not cold. The lake surface is shimmering and abundant with water, boating on the lake, fishing reflections, a cool breeze, and a wonderful beauty, as if you were in a paradise, bringing you joy and tranquility. The lakeside and the artificial island are covered with lush trees, fragrant lotus flowers, birds singing, flutes playing, and a beautiful harmony between people and nature.

Xini City has many rivers and abundant water. Shengquan Lake, located on the north side of the Shuangtang (Twin Ponds) town, is integrated with the Dahe River (Big River) which flows through the city downstream. It's like a piece of emerald jade embedded in Shuangtang. Above the Dahe River is a clear, bottom-viewable pond, with continuous water flow, even during droughts, springs have never dried up. Nearby villagers call it 'Divine Spring' or 'Sacred Spring,' using it for drinking and irrigating their fields. The Gaotang Reservoir spillway is an important water conservation and flood control facility for Shengquan Lake. The spillway is designed with 11 holes and its shape resembles a white sailboat, connecting Shengquan Lake and the Dahe River wetland ecological corridor. It's a connection point for the beautiful Twin Ponds, standing quietly on the south shore of Shengquan Lake, ready to set sail.

Shengquan Lake has a beautiful environment and abundant natural resources. The water is crystal clear and refreshing. Locals call it 'Sacred Spring,' meeting the national second-class water quality standards. It is rich in various valuable freshwater fish, including grouper, salmon, carp, crabs, bass, silverfish, and eel. A large number of tourists from surrounding areas visit it every year for leisure and vacation.
