Shanxi Daily New Media Comprehensive Report: On March 16th, the Taiyuan City Planning and Natural Resources Bureau publicized the 'Jinyi-Tianyuan Mountain Scenic and Historic Area Overall Planning Outline' and 'Juewei Mountain Scenic and Historic Area Overall Planning Outline'. These two scenic areas will be reduced and slightly increased respectively.
Jinyi-Tianyuan Mountain and Juewei Mountain Scenic and Historic Areas were established in 1987 and 2011 respectively, as provincial scenic and historic areas with a focus on humanities and natural resources.
This planning is based on the fundamental protection of the scenic area's humanities and natural landscape values, maintaining the integrity of the regional river and watershed ecological unit as a basic principle, with natural ecological protection space as the base. Combined with the development of the Xishan area and land use status, the core area and overall scope boundaries were determined.
The total area of Jinyi-Tianyuan Mountain Scenic and Historic Area is 115.38 square kilometers, with a core area of 37.24 square kilometers; the total area has decreased compared to its establishment, mainly reducing areas such as the mountainous front urban development area, agricultural production areas, and other spaces with a less direct connection to the scenic area.
The total area of Juewei Mountain Scenic and Historic Area is 164.74 square kilometers, with a core area of 53.81 square kilometers; the total area has slightly increased compared to its establishment, mainly increasing areas for adjustments to the local ecosystem unit.
