Stillness in Motion, Joy in Suffering
Remaining at peace isn't true tranquility; achieving peace amidst movement is the true essence of innate nature; experiencing joy in comfort isn't genuine joy; finding happiness in hardship is the profound insight of the heart.
Living in the countryside, it's impossible to remain truly still. Maintaining inner peace in a bustling marketplace, undisturbed by external noise, is the genuine art. If one is exiled and sent back to their hometown, or has not yet reached old age, they are unable to handle national affairs – stillness serves no purpose. A solitary life in a remote, tranquil mountain valley may seem peaceful, but true tranquility is only achieved when opportunities arise; most people break their stillness and indulge in worldly pleasures. Only those who can face hardship with a smile and find contentment within it are truly capable of creating happiness and making a meaningful contribution to the world.
