What vegetables are suitable for dogs to eat in the kitchen?

Vegetables are foods we frequently consume, but did you know? Vegetables are rich in vitamins and minerals, and feeding them to dogs can help them grow healthy. Today, we'd like to share 6 vegetables suitable for dogs to eat.

Carrots

Generally, dogs can directly feed on raw carrots, especially the small ones. Carrots contain β-carotene and have a high fiber content. Carrots also have low calories, so they are very suitable for overweight dogs to eat. Chewing carrots can also maintain dogs' oral health.

Cucumber

Cucumber is almost fat-free and has very low carbohydrates, which is great for obese dogs as a slimming snack. Cucumbers are a good source of vitamins B1, K and C, and are rich in copper, magnesium, biotin and potassium. Cucumbers contain about 96% water, so when we finish walking our dogs, giving them a cucumber can quickly replenish their hydration.

Celery

Celery contains vitamins A, B and C, as well as promoting dogs' heart health. When feeding, cut the celery into small segments of a few centimeters long as a supplementary snack for dogs' sweet treats.

Broccoli

Broccoli contains high levels of vitamin C and fiber. Because broccoli contains glucosinolates (a compound that may cause some dogs to have stomach discomfort), it should be fed in moderation. Broccoli should be steamed and then cut into small pieces before feeding.

Lettuce

Lettuce contains 90% water, so it can be fed to dogs as a low-calorie and refreshing snack. Lettuce has lower nutritional value than other vegetables, but it contains fiber and β-carotene, which is a pigment that is converted into vitamin A in dogs' bodies. Lettuce can be eaten raw, but should be fed in moderation to avoid causing diarrhea in dogs. Because lettuce may contain E. coli or Listeria, all lettuce should be thoroughly washed before feeding.

Green Beans

Green beans are rich in essential vitamins and minerals and contain fiber. Green beans are a good vegetable for our dogs. Chop and steam the green beans before using. Low-calorie green beans do not need to be added with seasonings.
