Spring Blooms, Wild Animals Gather at Lotus Pond for ‘Meals’
Over the past few days, continuous monitoring camera installations within the Mengyangzi Protected Area of the Yunnan Xishuangbanna Nature Reserve’s Lotus Pond Wildlife Food Source Base have captured the images of various wild animals.

In this spring season of blossoming flowers, the Lotus Pond Wildlife Food Source Base is filled with lush green grass, fragrant flowers, soaring birds, and playful animals… Red-infrared camera data monitoring reveals that numerous wild animals have frequently visited this special ‘canteen’ – Asian elephants, sika deer, red, monkeys, wild boars, pheasants, white-eared rabbits, lizards, and more than ten other wild species, leaving behind droppings, footprints, feeding marks, and traces.

The continuous monitoring camera recordings of wild animal figures demonstrate the effectiveness of this food source base, providing conditions for wild animals to forage, attracting a group of animals to settle and breed here, and reducing the wild animals' foraging of community residents' crops.
