Leaping 'Spirits' in the Helan Mountains
Yaks are a national level protected animal and a vulnerable wild species, also known as the '' (spirits) leaping on the cliffs of the Helan Mountains. Ningxia Helan Mountain National Nature Reserve is one of the areas with the highest density of yaks globally. After years of environmental remediation and ecological restoration, the total number of Helan Mountain yaks has reached over 40,000.
