China has 31 Species of Woodswallows for Appreciation and Identification
Pycnonotidae (Woodswallows) – There are 4 genera and 31 species in China. They are medium to small singing birds. The beak is relatively thin and slightly downward curved at the tip; the wings are short and rounded; the tail is slender and tapering or rounded; the legs are short and the tarsal are short and weak, mostly covered with scale-like feathers; the plumage is soft and elongated, especially in the post-neck region. They are arboreal, primarily feeding on fruits, and also eat insects. They are beloved by people, including myself, and I also love them. Someone once asked me if I could keep them. After learning about the composition of the natural environment, I released all the birds I kept. Maybe that's what I can do!
