Baby Orangutan Dies in Poacher Trap, Subsequent Actions by Group of Monkeys are Heartening

Although there are millions of people worldwide who love animals and will do everything to protect them, poachers still have many ways to kill wild animals. Despite the unfortunate and helpless situation of these poor animals, they sometimes initiate counterattacks.

Rwanda's Volcano National Park is a paradise for poachers, who set many snare traps to catch antelope and other animals. However, primates sometimes fall into these traps. Although adult gorillas are strong enough to break free from these restraints, young monkeys are less fortunate.

According to personnel from the local Wildlife Protection Fund, he saw several gorillas working together to dismantle traps. While he was tracking a group of gorillas, a young gorilla suddenly fell into a trap. Another four-year-old gorilla rushed to the trap. It jumped onto a bent branch and broke it, freeing the trapped gorilla from the rope.

Then, this 'hero' quickly found a third gorilla and dismantled another trap using the same method. This was the first time for the local worker, who had been working with gorillas for many years.

And just a few days before this happened, a young gorilla was killed by this trap. When the staff arrived, it was too late. After the poor little gorilla tried to free herself from the rope, the rope deeply embedded in her leg, her shoulder was dislocated... unable to save the little gorilla's life.

Although the animals' actions were truly extraordinary and very effective in dismantling traps, the managers said they did not approve of teaching animals such behavior, and they wanted to minimize interference with the gorillas' natural lives. What do you think about this? Should we allow animals to fall into complete traps to protect their nature, or should we teach animals to protect themselves by dismantling the traps?
