On March 3rd, during a routine wildlife monitoring by the Yu Hai National Wetland Park Monitoring Station, a large population of juvenile swans was discovered on the surface of Yu Hai Lake. Monitoring station staff used high-definition cameras to count them, discovering a total of 43 swans, including juvenile swans and adult swans, which is the largest swan group ever found in Yinchuan
On March 4th, Monitoring Station Deputy Director of the Yu Hai National Wetland Park, Mr. Fan Xiaoming, told reporters that through high-magnification telescopes, we observed the presence of these juvenile swans. Juvenile swans generally stop briefly in Yinchuan before migrating north to the Wu Liang Su Sea. 'Swans are naturally cautious, and their stay in Yinchuan is short, usually between three days and a week, depending on whether they feel the habitat is safe'
On March 4th, reporters also saw the swan group in Yu Hai Lake through telescopes. According to Mr. Fan Xiaoming, in 2008, only 6 juvenile swans were observed in Yu Hai Lake, and in 2016, bird enthusiasts in Yinchuan photographed adult swans, but without exceeding 10 individuals. 'This is the first time Yinchuan has been discovered with such a large population of both juvenile and adult swans'
Staff at the Yu Hai National Wetland Park told reporters that the environment in Yu Hai Park has improved, attracting more birds, and requires more investment in conservation funds and related policies to protect the bird species in Yinchuan's Yu Hai National Wetland Park
