Upstream Images·Photographer Xiaoshuan's Lens on Mongolia ④ | 'Wild Horses' on the Steppe – Przewalski's Horse

Recently, visited the Khustai National Park in Mongolia, where he captured a precious steppe 'panda'—Przewalski's horse.

Khustai National Park is located south of Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. The park covers an area of 50,620 hectares and its main protected species are Mongolia's Przewalski's horses and local natural resources.

Przewalski's horses are considered the only wild horses still surviving on Earth.

According to reports, the ancestors of Przewalski's horses are the earliest horses on Earth—the ancestral horse. It retains the only original genes of horses on Earth.

Przewalski's horses are usually led by strong stallions, forming horse herds of 5-20. They live a nomadic lifestyle.

Przewalski's horses are sensitive and have strong running ability. They are diurnal but prefer to be active at night, feeding on prickly wheatgrass, reeds, and willow trees in the desert.

Wild horses walk leisurely and contentedly across the grasslands.
