Having seen the wild monkeys in Emeishan and Kailin Park in Guizhou, I wondered if I could also see wild monkeys in Shanxi.
Until one day passing through Lishan, I found a sign: Lishan Monkey Source Scenic Area. Ticket price 30 yuan/person, plus 10 yuan/car for driving in. Of course, I had to go in to see the monkeys in the Shanxi mountains.
The monkeys have very sensitive noses, and the corn they brought were immediately snatched by the aggressive monkeys.
There were many corn vendors here, with a clanging of copper bells and thousands of monkeys gathering from the mountains, the monkeys were wild and not teased, as there was no banana in the north, they adapted to local customs and loved to eat corn.
Shanxi, Yangcheng County, Dongfeng Village, Xihonghong Village, altitude 877 meters, county village, across the bridge overlooking Quyxu County West Village. Within Xihonghong Village, there is the Monkey Source Scenic Area entrance. Following the West Xihonghong River upstream for 4 kilometers can see the vast number of monkeys.
