Miraculous Survival: Kitten Shot in Head Lives After Arrow Stays in Head for a Week (Arrow Displacement of 1cm Would Have Been Fatal)
People often say 'cats have nine lives,' CNN reported on February 18th about such a head-shot 'un-dead cat'.
On Valentine's Day, a ginger tabby named 'Cupid' was found after being shot in the brain for at least a week. Now it is recovering well after undergoing surgery.

Last week, a head-shot kitten was brought to a shelter in West Virginia, but the shelter said they didn't have the funds to treat the kitten. So they had to seek help from other organizations.
The Arlington Animal Welfare Center in Arlington, Virginia, learned about the matter and immediately posted on Facebook, stating that after seeing the head-shot kitten, they decided to launch a rescue operation to save its life.
The kitten was then urgently sent to the animal welfare center, where the vet took an X-ray of it and gave it painkillers.
The Arlington Animal Welfare Center said, 'The vet treating the kitten believes that the arrow had stayed in the kitten's brain for at least a week.'
The vet said, 'We know it's uncomfortable, but every time someone talks to it, it purrs, and people will scratch its chin. It's a very brave, very kind kitten, so we decided to name this kitten 'Cupid,' found on Valentine's Day.'
The vet noted, 'The most amazing thing is that the arrow didn't penetrate any of the kitten's major organs or arteries.'
Center doctor Chelsea Jones told reporters, 'If the arrow had shifted 1 centimeter to the left, the kitten would have died.'

Now the kitten 'Cupid' is recovering, it has to fight against bacterial infections, so the recovery speed is slow. The hospital also registered an Instagram account for it, named 'Save Cupid,' and the hospital updates its situation on Instagram every day.
This cute kitten, however, cannot pass on love to its descendants in its remaining years. Because the vet not only removed the arrow stuck in its head but also performed a spay surgery during the anesthesia.
