White Dolphins Appear for Six Consecutive Days; Observer Says It's the First Time Since Xiaojie Monitoring Station Established

According to Xiamen Evening News report on March 1, Taihai Net, recently, many sea areas in my city, including Xiaojie, Tuiyu and Dongtu, have appeared frequently with white dolphins, creating a beautiful scene. Yesterday, Xu Zhenke, an observer at the Xiaojie Monitoring Station of the Xiamen Marine Protection Zone, said that from February 24th to 29th, white dolphins appeared in Xiaojie waters for six consecutive days. This is the first time since the Xiaojie monitoring station was established 7 years ago, reflecting the increasingly good marine ecological environment of my city.
-Zhou Qing is a staff member of the Xiamen White Dolphin Management and Conservation Center, also Xiaojie's son-in-law, yesterday in the evening at around 5:30 PM, he went to Xiaojie to visit his grandparents, and suddenly received phone calls from several fishermen who said they saw three or four white dolphins swimming around their fishing boats, 'stealing' fish, and even punctured several holes in their nets.

-His father-in-law, Xu Zhenke, observer at the Xiaojie Monitoring Station, said that the white dolphins appeared for six consecutive days, which is the first time since the establishment of the Xiaojie monitoring station in 2013, and it is a rare occasion.
-According to Xu Zhenke's introduction, when he was 9 years old, he and his friends often went fishing and saw a group of white dolphins swimming past, leaving an unforgettable beautiful memory. This made him and the white dolphins have a special connection.
-'Recently, the frequent activity of white dolphins indicates that the marine ecological environment of Xiaojie waters has improved, and white dolphins like to eat fish has increased.' Zhou Qing analyzed.
-Currently, there are five fixed observation points for Chinese white dolphins in Xiamen, including Fuhaiyu, Wuyuanwan, Gulouyu Island, Xiaojie Island and Haomen Island. Currently, the number of Chinese white dolphins in Xiamen is less than 100. Staff said that last year, someone photographed a newly born Chinese white dolphin in the waters of Xiamen, indicating that the Chinese white dolphin population is currently in a stable state.
