Why Japanese Hotels Don't Require Deposits: It's More Than Just a Small Issue
Nowadays, travel is becoming increasingly convenient, which not only changes our lifestyle but also improves our living standards. In the past, many people would choose to stay in their own cities for a lifetime, even without ever leaving the village. Now, more and more people are working in different cities or abroad.

With the changing of lifestyles, hotels have become a hot industry. When staying in hotels, regardless of the level, we all have to pay a deposit, which will be returned to us upon checkout. However, I found that in Japan, hotels don't have this process. Not only didn't they charge deposits, but when I checked out, they didn't even inspect the room.
In many people's hearts, there is a lingering aversion to Japan. However, we must admit that Japan is indeed better than domestic in some things. Japan's environment is recognized worldwide, and Japanese people's quality is generally higher. We can learn about this through films and literature.

Japanese people don't indulge themselves after checking into a hotel because they are consumers. They pay attention to their image, and some even tidy up the room when checking out. Such a habit naturally earns the hotel's trust, so there's no need for a deposit to restrain customers' behavior, and the hotel's interests can be guaranteed, so there's no need for a cumbersome inspection.
However, in our country, there is always a small group of people who have childish ideas, thinking that since I've paid, I can do whatever I want. As long as the hotel provides services, I must enjoy them all, and some even deliberately do disgusting things to damage hotel property.
When a hotel can't guarantee that every customer will abide by the rules, it can only use the most cumbersome method – taking a deposit to restrain those who don't follow the rules.

In general, this seemingly small matter reflects the quality levels of the two countries. Of course, many people in our country do very well in this area, which is worth learning from us, but we cannot deny that there are still some unpleasant customers.
Some people may think that I am a Westerner or a show-off, but some things we must admit. Only by recognizing the advantages of others can we truly correct our shortcomings. You can express your opinions through comments, and we can learn from each other.
