Shicheng Yao Shang Ethnic Culture Village Opens!

Shicheng Yao Ethnic Culture Village has been opened in an orderly manner. In recent days, batches of tourists have wandered through the beautiful mountains and rivers and the ancient and rustic folk customs of Yao Shang.
Shicheng Yao Shang Ethnic Culture Village is located at the foot of the famous Buddhist Peak in East Guizhou. It is located in Pingshan Township, Shicheng County. It is situated in the triangle area bordering the counties of Shicheng, Zhenquan, and Shibie, known as 'one place spanning three counties.' It is about 30 kilometers from Shicheng City and is home to over 2,000 Yi people, a village where Yi ethnic culture is very concentrated. The village is surrounded by lush, emerald primary forests, with green mountains and singing birds, quiet and elegant. The Baxi River flows through the village, with cool water and commonly seen carp and waterfowl. Due to its beautiful mountains and rivers, ancient dwellings, and rustic folk customs, as well as its unique hanging houses, lattice windows, lotus ponds, stone alleys, double-fish pavilions, and vibrant streetscapes, as well as the totem sculpture - the Eagle of the Valley, located in the central plaza of the Cultural Square, and the crimson rain bridge, it is captivating and makes people linger and return.
Yao Shang is known as the Shicheng Ethnic Culture Village and is also known as 'the First Yi Village of Shicheng.' Every year on the second day of the second month of the lunar calendar, the locals celebrate the 'Eagle Worship Festival.' This day is the most bustling day of the year in Yao Shang. All Yi people from Yao Shang and nearby villages gather together to worship the eagle, visit the Red Army Cemetery, perform the Maolong dance, perform the Nuo Opera, sing mountain songs, and taste various local snacks, fully showcasing Yi culture.
Take a horse-drawn carriage and ride along the creek, heading to the quiet valley. A young man begins to sing mountain songs, with deep valleys and singing birds, which is truly charming and elegant. After passing the stele forest, looking to the left, you can see a huge 'Buddha' character. If you make a small wish at this time, your heart will be completely relaxed. Deeper into the village, you arrive at the confluence of two streams, where you can access the path to Buddhist Peak, and there is also a water mill. The water flowing down from Buddhist Peak is used by the Yi people to grind rice, fully demonstrating the ingenuity of Yi ancestors in utilizing water energy.
The rain bridge is a place where Yi people dry their clothes and rest. Yi young men and women often sing mountain songs on the bridge. Under the rain bridge is clear water, sitting on the rain bridge, you can look up and see the sky through the bird's mouth, and look down to see the fish swimming in the shallow water. You can also enjoy the beautiful scene of Sister Yu washing clothes in the river.
Yao Shang Ethnic Culture Village is not only beautiful in mountains and rivers and picturesque in scenery, but the ethnic culture is charming and captivating everywhere. (Ma Xiaoming)
