Stone Gate National Forest Park: A Place Worth Returning To!
As a resident of Guangzhou, I've explored many beautiful places, and it's truly a long journey to see all the attractions. Reflecting on my visits, I’ve been to Beijing Road, Red Brick Factory, White Cloud Mountain, Stone Gate Forest Park, White Water Fortress, Cuizhaowan Hot Spring Resort, Guangzhou Chimelong Paradise, Little Waistcoat, University Town, and so on. It’s really a long time to explore all these spots. However, each place I’ve been to left a very profound impression, and they were all amazing. Today, I’d like to share some photos and feelings about Stone Gate Forest Park.
Stone Gate National Forest Park is located in Cuizhaowan District of Guangzhou, with a total area of 2636 hectares and a forest coverage rate of 98.9%. When people talk about Cuizhaowan, the first thing that comes to mind is Cuizhaowan Hot Spring Resort, because it’s a great place for vacation, especially in winter. Besides enjoying hot springs in Cuizhaowan, you can also breathe fresh air and climb mountains, such as Stone Gate National Forest Park and White Water Fortress. And you won’t regret it if you go.

When I went to Stone Gate National Forest Park, I was mainly hoping to see the red maple leaves. Generally, you can see red maple leaves around December. When I was in Beijing, I went to Fragrant Hills to see red maple leaves, which was very beautiful. But after returning to the south, it's rare to see such beautiful scenery. I heard that Stone Gate National Forest Park could see red maple leaves, so I naturally didn't want to miss it.
However, when I went, I didn't completely see the red maple leaves in Stone Gate National Forest Park. It wasn’t the best time yet, so around mid-December would be relatively good for seeing red maple leaves. After all, winter doesn’t come to Guangdong very quickly. But that didn’t matter, we felt the fresh and comfortable air, and the beautiful flowers here.

We started from Cuizhaowan, and stayed in Cuizhaowan Hot Spring Hotel the night before. Then we started from the hotel in the morning to Stone Gate National Forest Park. The road uphill is quite winding, not very easy to drive on, because it’s on the mountain. But it’s okay to drive carefully, just pay attention to the road. There are mostly lush trees and orchards along the road. As long as you open the window, you’ll always have fresh air.

Stone Gate National Forest Park is a good place for self-driving because it’s too big and has many attractions. If you go by bus, it will be quite tiring. We bought tickets at the gate and drove up the mountain. It’s quite a distance, and there are many cars, so we didn’t reach the Tianchi side yet, so we parked according to the signs and walked to the Tianchi area. It took about an hour to walk, and it’s a very comfortable walk, and you won’t feel tired.

What impressed me most was the flower sea in Tianchi. Here you can see all kinds of blooming flowers. We were completely fascinated by the scenery, so almost all the time was spent here. In the flower sea, there is a piano standing under a big tree, which is very poetic. When I shared this photo, I thought we were taking wedding photos there.

So many friends said that the flower sea in Tianchi is enough to satisfy you. Yes, besides the scenery along the way and the panoramic view of the mountains, you can also enjoy the beautiful scenery in the flower sea in Tianchi.
Tianchi
In the mountains, Tianchi is very comfortable. I’ve been to many Tianchi, and Stone Gate National Forest Park’s Tianchi is the most tempting, because the whole Tianchi is surrounded by lush green mountains. When we came down from the bottom, we saw this beautiful Tianchi, we were very happy and relieved. And you can see flowers, so you will definitely like this place.
Flower Sea
In different seasons, there are different flowers blooming here. Even in the same season, there are many varieties of flowers in the flower sea. It reminds me of seeing the flower sea in (Erhai Lake), but it’s not as beautiful as here.

You can also see many characteristic art sculptures in the flower sea, which match the scenery, making it even more poetic. For example, the piano in the middle of the flower sea at (huilai) is very famous. I believe we all have a piano dream, but it didn’t happen until graduation. Ordinary dreams are hard to realize, because pianos are very expensive.

Although the whole trip was mainly about the flower sea, it satisfied me a lot. Now when I think about it, it’s still so beautiful, and I will go again in a short time to appreciate Stone Gate International Forest Park. Because there are still many attractions that haven’t been visited, and I hope to visit more attractions next time and see more beautiful scenery.
