Changyu City: Beijing's Northwestmost Village, Accessible by Bus
Changyu City, a simple and rustic village at the northwest corner of Changping District, Beijing, take bus line 919 from Deshengmen Bus Station, alight at Chen Zhuang Station, transfer to Chang 33 bus and alight at Changyu City Station.

Here, the wild Long Wall has not been artificially renovated, and it is still relatively well-preserved. It's more appealing than the popular, heavily-visited Badaling section, preferring this weathered and authentic variety.

During the ascent, you pass a small reservoir – though small, it's quite unique. The scattered white birch forests in the valley are also stunning, and a small stream flows through, it's a little cool at the moment, and it will still feel quite good when the wildflowers are in bloom.
Also, it's free to enter. If you get tired, you can return to the village below and choose a charming courtyard for a hearty pig's feet feast.

However, I still prefer the feeling of standing high and looking out – it's refreshing and invigorating.
