A Date with the Steppe – Xilingol, Not Losing to Hulunbulin's Vast Grasslands

Sitting on the grassland, the clouds above tell you your story, watching the clouds roll and drift, imagining herds of cattle and sheep, the winding bays, and nomadic herders returning home, watching the smoke rise from distant Mongolian yurts.
Xilinguole League is located in the north of China, at the intersection of Northeast, North China, and Northwest. Xilinguole League's natural pastures are located in the central part of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, bordering Mongolia to the north and Hebei to the south. It is one of the world-renowned grasslands, also known as one of the Four Great Grasslands of China, a major natural grassland of the Inner Mongolian grassland. Xilinguole League has a long history and rich cultural landscape, with ancient Great Wall ruins built during the Qin and Liao-Jin dynasties, locations where the Ming Emperor Zhu Di stationed troops during his northern expedition, and the ruins of the Yuan Dynasty capital, Chengde. Xilinguole was also the temporary capital of the Great Khan, Kublai Khan.
From Jinlan Banner to Xilingtaitai, the incredibly beautiful self-driving highway is considered one of the most beautiful grassland landscapes in China. Along the way, you'll find cattle and sheep, Mongolian yurts, and other grassland scenery. You'll also pass a huge wind farm group: You can see Flat Top Mountain Scenic Area in the distance, experiencing a different grassland scenery. There are always grassland landscapes everywhere on this road, which makes me uneasy, so let me enthusiastically recommend two of the best views: the wind farm group and the distant view of Flat Top Mountain.

In summer, when you come to Xilinguole, your eyes will be filled with lush green; as soon as October arrives, the grassland's autumn colors will gradually turn yellow, creating a deep and vast beauty that makes your heart feel at peace.
The distant undulating mountains, the leisurely cattle and sheep nearby – just these simple outlines create a grassland autumn scene in front of your eyes. This self-driving trip to Xilinguole was along the autumn colors, pursuing the vast scenery of the thousand-li grassland.
