Linjiang City, which is a county-level city under the administration of Jilin Province, Baiyangshan Municipality, located in the southeast of Jilin Province, in the hinterland of Changbaishan Mountain, on the banks of the Yalu River, facing three counties (Zhongjiang County, Jin Hengzhicun, Cizheng County) of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea across the river, with a border line of 146 kilometers.
Linjiang was originally named Miao Ershan. In the 28th year of the Qing Dynasty (1902), the Qing government established a county here, and because it was close to the Yalu River, Miao Ershan was renamed Linjiang.

Linjiang City’s major minerals include diatomite, white gypsum, coal, gold, antimony ore, and a total of 46 types of minerals are available for mining within the city’s territory, with diatomite reserves and grades ranking first in China and Asia.
