Hongqiao Business District in Shanghai: Beyond Offices and Commerce – Pandalun Ancient Town as a Cultural Facility
The Hongqiao Business District in Shanghai has been extensively constructed with many key components, featuring well-known offices, commercial establishments, and a grand national exhibition center.
Within the Hongqiao Business District, it's not just about offices and commerce; Qingpu's Pandalun Ancient Town will become a relatively large cultural facility, adding a nice touch to the business district. Pandalun Ancient Town, though artificial, is also a cultural symbol of Hongqiao Business District.
Pandalun Ancient Town is located in the west area of Hongqiao Business District, and the area is marked with a red circle below.
Shanghai Metro Line 17 has a station called Pandalun Road Station, which is based on Pandalun Ancient Town. This is also the second station on Line 17 within Qingpu District – the first station is the National Exhibition Center.
Originally, Pandalun Ancient Town was a very dilapidated area of old houses. Before, it was just ordinary residential buildings, and a cultural tourism facility.

For Qingpu's Pandalun Ancient Town, whether it's artificial or not is not important, what's important is that it is already a key part of the Hongqiao Business District.
The existence of Pandalun Ancient Town also adds some cultural facilities to the Hongqiao Business District, and is a tourism facility. This is different from facilities such as offices and malls.
