Beautiful Xi'an: The Most Charming District – Panzha Avenue: A District with Distinct Features, Beautiful Environment, and Even More Beautiful
Living in the 'steel forest' of the city, the harmonious scene of 'pushing open the window to see green' is enviable. And in Xishian, this desire has become a reality. 'The water is clear like dark jade, willows dance in the breeze.' To the east of Xi'an, the Weihe and Panzhe rivers meander side by side. In ancient times, this was a romantic place for saying goodbye to willows, and it was also a bustling center for logistics transport. It presented a magnificent landscape to the world.
Now, Xishian Panzha Ecological Zone, relying on its unique ecological environment advantages, has been designated as the first national wetland system protection and restoration pilot area in Northwest China and the location of Xi'an Panzha National Wetland Park, has become a pioneer and demonstration area of urban ecological zones.

The Panzha Ecological Zone once again verified the 'green water and mountains are golden hills' development concept. The Panzha Avenue (Xinghe Road – Banliu West Road) is one of the most representative streets in the district.

In July 2011, the Xishian Panzha Ecological Zone was recognized as a national ecological zone, which played a demonstration and leading role in accelerating the ecological construction of the mid-west region.
The Panzha Avenue (Xinghe Road – Banliu West Road) is located in the central axis core position of the Panzha Ecological Zone, with a total length of about 1.9 kilometers. The road grade is municipal level two, with a cleaning area of about 68746㎡, arranging 15 sanitation workers and one supervisor, and is responsible for managing the daily cleaning of 6 bus stops, 232 lamp posts, 31 garbage (fruit peel) bins, and 52 public seating areas – urban furniture. Looking at Panzha Avenue, it is clean and tidy all year round, and the environmental hygiene is delightful.
It is reported that the greening and maintenance level of this road section is level A, with a greening area of 21707㎡, 541 trees, and 541 trees. The streets on both sides stretch across the Wei River and the Banliu River, with the Xi'an World Expo Park on the other side of the river. It can be viewed, played, ridden, driven, and rested. Moving and walking across the scene is different, quietly appreciating the picturesque scenery, and the combination of static and dynamic is the most beautiful scenery.
According to staff of the Panzha Ecological Zone, at night, Panzha Avenue and Banliu West Road, Guanyuan Bridge and the Pier Square – distinctive nodes, are brilliantly illuminated, while they are linked by street lamps, landscape lamps and Chinese knot light fixtures, forming a unique light show, which has been widely praised by citizens, making it one of the best residential areas in the city.

There are 12 enterprises and institutions, 5 communities and 2 supermarkets, 1 hospital and 77 street-side shops along Panzha Avenue, scattered on both sides of the road. The prosperity of commerce brought vitality to this area. The economic development also allowed the residents to enjoy convenience and a comfortable life. The establishment and development of the Panzha Peninsula Community have achieved multiple honors in recent years and has been listed as an efficiency model, providing services to residents in a detailed, reasonable and convenient manner; in comprehensive management, the community advocates for conducting grid management based on its own actual situation, fully mobilizing public forces, coordinating with property management companies and community committees to jointly build a harmonious community. At the same time, the community has also achieved remarkable achievements in peace and security construction.
The consulates located along the road also added color to Panzha Avenue. It is reported that the development and construction of the Xi'an Consulate District is based on the Silk Road, with 'One Belt and One Road' as the core, relying on the Silk Road, ASEAN, BRICS, SCO and other international opportunities, focusing on building the diplomatic window of 'One Belt and One Road' construction. Currently, visa centers for France, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Hungary, Spain, and Cambodia have been established, and the Cambodian Consulate General in Xi'an has successfully entered the district, opening a new channel to improve the openness and making Panzha become one of Xi'an's windows to the world.
