Weihui, Henan: Poverty-Alleviating People Dream Amidst Flower Seas

Currently, the ‘Ciuyue Mountain and Water’ Photography Competition is being held in Licheng Head Township, Weihe City, Henan Province. Vast fields of golden rapeseed flowers, stretching along the Zhaoyang Line for twenty kilometers, have created a golden ribbon that is truly iconic and provides a powerful impetus for poverty alleviation, driving industrial poverty alleviation, and supporting rural revitalization – Weihe’s ‘Belt and Road’ economic corridor. For days, visitors from all over have been captivated by the flower fields, especially photographers and photography enthusiasts, who have used long and short cameras to capture exciting moments from the Ciuyue Mountain fields, permanently preserving these moments.
Mr. Liu Bo is one of them. Born in 1963, he is a member of the China Photographers Association, began photography in 1983, and served as a professional photographer at the Fengquan District Culture Center from 2005. He has won over 300 awards domestically and internationally, enjoys photographing folk and human-interest photos. His 2015 work ‘The Most Beautiful Scenery’ won a bronze award in the National Exhibition recording category for 25th National Exhibition, and in 2019, his work ‘On the Opera Road’ again won second place in the National Exhibition’s artistic category, out of 240,000 submissions, and was selected by the judges – Liu Bo was selected again to receive the award in Weifang, Shandong!
The charm of Ciuyue Mountain and its flower fields once again conquered Mr. Liu Bo. He rushed to the mountains, triggering inspiration, and photographed a series of pictures titled ‘Dreamy Flower Sea of Poverty-Alleviating People in Weihui’ near Young Man’s Cave in Yangwan Village. Poverty-alleviating people in the mountains were flying kites, with kites carrying healthy and positive red square combinations with content such as ‘Precision Poverty Alleviation, Towards Prosperity’ and ‘Poverty Alleviation Never Forget the Communist Party’ – realizing dreams.
