Are You Making These Posture Mistakes?
Recently, I attended a yoga class online guided by a yoga instructor.
According to the teacher's guidance, whether the movements are standard or the frequency of repetitions is much more important during yoga practice.
Summarize the mistakes the teacher repeatedly reminded everyone were very common:
First mistake: Shrugging shoulders
No matter which movement you're doing, you must ensure you're not shrugging your shoulders.
Especially when doing upper body exercises, you must always observe yourself to see if you are shrugging your shoulders.
Our shoulders need to open up and maintain a downward position, feeling as if our backsides are being squeezed in the middle by the shoulder blades, creating a 'valley' feeling in the back between the shoulder blades.
Second mistake: Chin raised
When the teacher asks us to extend our heads backward and upward, many people instinctively crane their necks and raise their chins. In fact, we will find that our cervical spine is not in a straight state.
At this time, you need to feel that the chin is slightly drawn in, the head extends backward, and the lower back of the neck is raised upwards.
Usually in a relaxed state, many people unconsciously raise their chins, neck extension, especially when looking at the computer.
This incorrect movement increases the pressure on the cervical spine and can lead to cervical spondylosis.
Especially the most important point is that neck extension affects appearance!,In daily life, if you observe carefully, you will find that many people have neck extension problems.
If you practice in front of the mirror, maintain the straight cervical spine, and then gradually relax, the neck extends forward, and the chin gradually rises, your demeanor will transition from elegant to awkward.
Especially from the side, don't ask me how I know it.
Besides yoga practice, adjusting posture, we can also pay attention to maintaining correct posture in daily life and forming habits, and then maintain it, which can gradually adjust your posture without being noticed.
Specifically, I summarized a few points to note:
1. When walking, standing, or sitting, constantly feel that the highest point of the head is the highest point of the head, with an invisible rope lifting it upwards. This will naturally raise the center of gravity, preferably to the level of the back. It is said that mastering this method, women can wear high heels at will.
2. When walking, standing, or sitting, always observe whether your shoulders are open and your shoulders are sinking. Especially when exerting force, you must sink your shoulders and never shrug your shoulders. Feel that the shoulder blades are squeezed towards the middle to create a 'back valley', hmm, like saying something strange.
Finally, the most important thing is to remind yourself to be aware of your posture anytime and anywhere. Once you find yourself hunching over, extending your neck, immediately adjust your correct posture.
Wishing you all a beautiful posture and a stunning aura, with a dazzling appearance like riding a rocket—!
