7White Firestone Boiling Soup

This dish is one of the oldest cooking dishes in China, a 'living fossil,' and the longest-preserved dish in Han Yang. Legend has it that when the ancients saw relatively flat rocks with natural pits containing freshly rained water, they put raw food inside and used red-hot stones to cook the food, which gave birth to a new way of eating. Not only did the food cooked with this method taste softer, smoother, and more tender than grilled food, but the soup was particularly flavorful. Later, the people of Han Yang found that cooking with white firestone had a special medicinal effect.

8Squid Soup

Squid Soup is a unique local dish of Han Yang, a product of immigration culture. It witnesses the bumpy and vicissitudes experienced by the people from the Huguang region, and reflects the inclusive and simple culture of Han Yang. The making of Squid Soup involves soaking a small amount of dried squid in cool water to soften, then cutting it into thin strands. Then, twice the amount of dried squid is used, with half-fat and half-lean pork cut into strands. Then, the two ingredients are put in the pot to cook, and then the mixture is put in a hot oil pan to stir-fry with chopped green onions and ginger before adding water and boiling until the meat and squid are cooked.

The above is what I want to share with you about 8 local delicacies to try when you visit Han Yang County. They all taste very good. Friends who visit Han Yang can try them out and invite friends from Han Yang to add more.
