It's awful! These poachers killed the only white giraffe mother and her child

This is sad news. A unique family of white giraffes was discovered in the Ishaqbini Hirola Natural Reserve in eastern Kenya in 2017, consisting of a female and her two offspring. However, yesterday, shocking news arrived: the female giraffe and one of her children were killed by poachers, leaving only a pile of bones.

The white giraffes in Kenya suffer from a disease called Leucism, which is not the usual leucoderma caused by a lack of melanin. The difference between the two is that leucoderma eyes are sensitive to light, while Leucism eyes have no discomfort. Animals with this condition are only found in Kenya and Tanzania, and these 3 female and male giraffes are currently the only ones found to have the disease.

The white giraffes are snow-white and beautiful, almost unreal. Once discovered, they caused a sensation and brought a large number of tourists to the natural reserve. Local residents consider these 3 female and male giraffes to be protectors of nature, believing that seeing a white giraffe brings good luck.

Unfortunately, even this beautiful protector cannot protect itself from the greed and brutality of humans. How much profit can these poachers make by killing the only white giraffes!

The head of the Ishaqbini Hirola Natural Reserve, Muhammad Alhassan Noor, stated in a statement that it was a very sad day for Ishaqbini and the entire Kenya conservation area, a long-term loss, as geneticists have spent a lot of money researching them.

Currently, only this male white giraffe offspring remains, and we hope he doesn’t suffer any further accidents.
