Anhui Huangshan Discovered New Species. Researchers announced that two new species were discovered in Huangshan recently.
Recently, the Huangshan Scenic Area Management Committee's Garden and Ecology Department, the Nanjing Environment Science Institute of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and Anhui University researchers discovered two new species of *Crocidura* (qú) species in Huangshan Scenic Area. After comprehensive morphological and systematic evolutionary studies, they were confirmed as two completely new mammalian species, named 'Anhui *Crocidura*' ( *Crociduraanhuiensis*) and 'Huangshan Little *Crocidura*' ( *Crocidurahuangshanensis*).
*Crocidura* is a rodent-eating animal belonging to the Eurasian order. It is found in Asia, Europe, and Africa, and is a small mammal about the size of a rat.
