Tangjiahe River Again Discovered Giant Panda Traces: What is the Experience of Being a 'Custodian' for Pandas?
On March 17th, staff at the Mo'tanling Protection Station of the Guangyuan Qingchuan Tangjiahe National Nature Reserve detected giant panda activity footage while conducting infrared camera grid monitoring. This was the second time giant pandas had been spotted in a short period of 28 days, and the locations were different.
According to staff at the protection station, the footage of the giant pandas was taken at Laohugou on Mo'tanling, at an altitude of 2103 meters. After identification by staff, the giant panda in the footage was an adult male individual.

When giant pandas are found in the wild, how do research staff at the protected area respond? The answer is to collect their droppings.

By collecting giant panda feces, researchers can determine subtle differences within individual pandas, obtain data on the number and density of giant pandas.
