On March 2nd, at the Qianling Peak National Nature Reserve in Lin'an, on the mountaintop at an altitude of over 1100 meters, the morning temperature was approximately 3 degrees Celsius.
The weather doesn't seem warm, but it doesn't affect the resurgence of life.
Chinese Tree Frogs have entered their annual breeding season.
They emerge from mud holes and grass, crawling in groups to ponds and pools, diligently starting to breed their offspring.

This year, the protection zone is particularly harmonious. After more than ten years of management and publicity by the Qianling Peak Administration, the villagers around the nature reserve have a high level of awareness of wildlife protection.
The staff of the protection zone said that currently there has not been anyone poaching frogs. It can be said that it is the quietest Chinese Tree Frog 'dating season' in the past twenty years.

Chinese Tree Frogs are also known as '' (lā hǔmǎ), and in Lin'an, this period of Chinese Tree Frogs descending after the first month of the lunar calendar is called '' (huáng hǔmǎ).
The staff of the protection zone said, 'When the frogs are breeding, the tadpoles and young frogs have a good appetite, eating the decomposition matter in the water, and when they grow up, they can catch a lot of insects to eat, which will be beneficial to agricultural production. As water cleaners, they also play a very important role in maintaining the ecological balance of nature and protecting water resources.'

Starting in March, the protection zone will become lively.
If the temperature is suitable, the cherry blossoms on the mountains will bloom at the end of this month, the tender grass will sprout, the trees will turn green, insects will chirp, and small animals will frolic, truly bringing the arrival of spring. If you are lucky enough, you may even encounter newborn elk calves next month.
'Nature is magical and full of mysteries, and each season has its own arrangement. When we observe nature and think about it, we can discover many places worthy of respect.' Said the staff of the protection zone.
