Snowy Sprite – Yunnan Golden Monkey
On January 20th, a Yunnan golden monkey was observed in the nature reserve. The Yunnan golden monkey is a first-class rare and endangered protected animal in China, and it is the highest altitude primate in the world. It lives in high-altitude dark coniferous forests with an altitude of over 3000 meters, with an activity range of 2500 to 4500 meters. Located in the BaiMa Snow Mountain National Nature Reserve in Deqin Tibetan Autonomous Region, Yunnan Province, it is one of the key distribution areas for the Yunnan golden monkey. In recent years, with the continuous improvement of the ecological environment and the effective promotion of protection work, the number of golden monkeys in the nature reserve has been increasing.
