A Wounded White Swan Touches the Hearts of Sanmenxia Residents; Recovery Efforts Underway
Recently, a wounded lone white swan was stranded near the Qinglong River Bridge across Gan Tang Road in the city's downtown area. After the staff of the Jianhe River Management Office discovered it, they immediately opened a recovery area and fed the swan daily, protecting it from harm.

On the second day of Chinese New Year, we discovered the lone swan resting in the Jianhe River. Two male workers braved the cold to dive down and discovered that the swan's wings were injured. We immediately launched a rescue operation.
On February 24th, Director Xiao Dong of the Jianhe River Management Office told reporters that the management office actively contacted the professional team from the Sanmenxia Swan Lake National Urban Wetland Park (hereinafter referred to as the Wetland Park) to request timely treatment for the swan, but due to the swan's small temper and fast swimming speed, the staff could not approach it.
In order to avoid frightening the swan or causing it to further injure itself, the staff decided to temporarily abandon the attempt to capture and treat it, taking other measures to help the swan heal.

According to reports, with the continuous improvement of the ecological environment in the downtown area of Sanmenxia, in recent two years, many white swans have flown in to rest and live in the Jianhe River during the winter. Before the Spring Festival, more than 30 white swans had arrived at the Jiuquan Bridge near the river, gathering in groups and adding a beautiful landscape to the urban waterways.

To provide the swans with a better habitat, the Jianhe River Management Office opened an area for the swans' life in the Jianhe River, arranged personnel to guard it, closely monitor the swans' condition, dissuaded anglers from fishing nearby, and advised citizens to watch from a distance to avoid disturbing the swans. At the same time, it promptly contacted the wetland park to consult about the swans' living habits and protection work precautions, establishing a communication channel.
