Yangzi Evening News, March 2nd report (reporter Mei Jianming, correspondent Wu Jiemin) This morning, the reporter of Yangzi Evening News received a report from citizens, stating that while photographing Yangtze river dolphins on the shore of Zhongshan Pier in Nanjing, he suddenly saw a wild boar running on the mudflat north of Zunzhou Island in the Yangtze River, which surprised him greatly.

According to the citizen, while photographing river dolphins on the Yangtze River, he actually discovered the shadow of a wild boar on the opposite Zunzhou Island. This was his first time seeing a wild boar in more than ten years. It may be because the environment has improved and more wild animals have appeared.
According to Mr. Xu, a forest ranger on Zunzhou Island, he had also seen traces of wild boars during his patrol and had seen them two years ago. These wild boars had pointed heads, dark brown fur, and were plump, with a body weight of about 100 kilograms. However, Mr. Xu was curious about how a wild boar could live on a 3.5-kilometer-long island surrounded by water. But it is possible that the wild boar came from nearby forests and swam across the water.

Reporter learned that wild boars are generally fierce and have strong attack capabilities. However, wild boars usually will not attack people unless they are in their mating and nursing periods. But when wild boars attack people, they will suddenly burst out with great force and can cause harm to people. Therefore, we also remind citizens not to panic if they encounter wild boars and not to provoke them, and to stay away from them as much as possible.
