Red Dabbling Duck Returns to Changning, Yunnan After Five Years


Recently, in the lake at Cha Yun Park in Changning County, Yunnan Province, in addition to black swan, mandarin duck, and small dabbler, two ruddy shelducks have appeared. This is the first time ruddy shelducks have appeared in Changning since 2015, and the first time they have appeared again after five years. Ruddy shelducks are migratory birds, and they will leave their breeding grounds from early March to mid-March and return in late October and early November. According to reports, the total population worldwide is about 30,000, and there are about 10,000 left in China.
