Spectacular! Witness the 'Swan Lake' Dance at Yaogai and Experience the Beauty of the Plateau
Recently, thousands of swans have “taken a break” in the Jiaqu River, Yaogai, Sichuan, presenting a stunning “swan lake” scenery on the plateau.
Every year from mid-October to late November, swans from Siberia will gradually migrate to the area 100 kilometers west of the Yaogai County, Aba, Sichuan, specifically in Macixi Town, Yaogai.
Yaogai is renowned for its “China’s Most Beautiful High-Altitude Wetland Grassland” and serves as an important wintering and resting ground for migratory birds. Due to the geothermal water in the Jiaqu River west of Yaogai County, which never freezes, it creates a favorable environment for the national secondary protected swans to winter.
Until March of the following year, the swans will fly back from Yaogai to Siberia.
Recently, reporters from the Yaogai Media Center captured their beautiful images. On the river surface, these beautiful elves leisurely swim, forage, and sometimes compete to chase each other, flying side by side, creating a magical and dynamic beauty together with the ice and snow grassland.
Macixi Township Mayor Yong Zhong stated that in recent years, Macixi Township has deepened the sandstorm control, black soil beach management, and degraded grassland improvement, wetland ecological restoration, and other projects, and has achieved real results in grassland ecological protection, and the “swan lake” where the swans reside is the most vivid example.Local villagers said that over 1,000 swans have stayed in the Jiaqu River during this period, and in a few days, these lovely elves will fly away.
