The snow melted, and all things recovered. The Micheng Water Reservoir also welcomed the arrival of migratory birds. On the 2nd, reporters learned from the Micheng Water Reservoir Management Office that thousands of migratory birds, including greater white-fronted geese, lesser white-fronted geese, white egrets, black-crowned night-herons, and cormorants, have successively arrived from the south, making Beijing, this 'big water basin', a 'bird paradise'.

In the Micheng Water Reservoir, green-headed ducks and various autumn shovel ducks play and forage in the reeds; proud black-crowned night-herons stand on branches with one leg, motionless, and only swoop down with their wings to hunt, showing their uniqueness with the most beautiful posture; graceful white swans, with their feathers as white as snow, they swim in groups on the shimmering water surface, and elegant autumn shovel ducks also appeared in the reservoir area, playing and frolicking.

In recent years, the management office of the Micheng Water Reservoir has taken a series of effective measures to better carry out water ecological protection work, strengthen water quality monitoring, conduct joint law enforcement, and severely crack down on all types of water-related illegal activities, and continuously increase ecological protection efforts. The obvious improvement in the ecological environment is attracting more and more rare animals to inhabit it. (Image: Wang Zhiyi, Li Jie, Li Mingmei)
