Injured Bamboo Rat Found in Hallway of Shenyang Residential Building, Volunteers Emergency Rescue
Resident Guo Xin at Room 51, Building 1, 23rd Floor, Hongwei New Town Apartment, North Beichu Middle School Road, Tiesi District, discovered a strange animal at the staircase inside his building on April 2nd. Feeling quite peculiar, Guo immediately dialed 110 for help. The police arrived and immediately contacted the Shenyang Wild Animal Protection Station.
On April 3rd, Ms. Deng Shuang, a volunteer from the China Animal Protection Association, visited Guo Xin's residence at Room 51, Building 1, 23rd Floor, Hongwei New Town Apartment, North Beichu Middle School Road, Tiesi District, and discovered that it was a national protected animal, a large bamboo rat, with a penetrating wound at its abdomen.
According to Ms. Deng Shuang, large bamboo rats live in southern cities. Taking this large bamboo rat to the animal rescue base for treatment and then releasing it back into nature. Currently, the large bamboo rat has undergone surgical suture treatment.
