Minhu Lake is located in Minhu Village, Sanmenxia Town, Yuxi County, Fujian Province, China, and is an artificial lake formed by the Sanmenxia Town Water Conservancy Project. Minhu Lake has a water surface area of 36.7 square kilometers, with a maximum width of the dam face reaching 2.5 kilometers, which is the largest in the province. Minhu Lake is characterized by its serene and expansive waters, resembling a giant gemstone embedded in the heart of the Fujian region.
Minhu Lake Water Scenic Area is centered around Minhu Lake, leveraging Yuxi's rich cultural heritage to connect with various tourism scenic spots, featuring water conservancy project landscapes, hydrological and geological landscapes, historical cultural relics, mountain and water leisure and vacation landscapes, and water-based tourism and recreation landscapes. Visitors can enjoy the lake's tranquility and charm in this area surrounded by mountains and water. Attractions such as ‘Gui Xiang Shi’ (Turtle and Elephant Stone), Minxin Garden, Fishing Platform, and Fishing and Aquaculture Base offer relaxing leisure spots, while newly added water activities like yachts and paragliding provide even more excitement for visitors. Currently, Minhu Lake has become a new highlight for water ecological tourism in the county, with visitors from across the province flocking to it during holidays and peak seasons.
