Qingyuan: A Thousand-Year-Old Ancient Plank Road Leads to Feilai Temple
Perhaps you don't know that from Qingyuan Bai Temple Pier, there is a path that can be walked to Feilai Temple, which is the Feilixiang Ancient Plank Road. The ancient plank road is currently being renovated, but it is still passable.
According to the 1993 edition of 'Qingyuan County Chronicle', the Qingyuan Feilixiang Plank Road was built in the 6th year of the Northern Song Dynasty's Jia (1061), with a total of 70 plank roads, with a history of over 1000 years. It has been renovated multiple times, which is why it maintains the appearance we see today.
The ancient plank road boasts beautiful scenery along the way, quiet and cool, with canyon scenery shrouded in the mottled and uneven shadows of trees, as if a blushing beauty is shyly revealing herself, forming a natural masterpiece of the North River style.
Feeling tired, you can rest your feet at the riverside hanging foot small restaurants, blow the river breeze, drink tea, it's quite pleasant. If it's time for dinner, you can also savor authentic river delicacies and farm dishes, while enjoying the beauty of the North River – a truly delightful experience.
The Bai Temple to Feilixiang Ancient Gondola Route is part of the Feilixiang Plank Road. It stretches along the North River bank, with a total length of 9 kilometers. It takes about 30 minutes to walk from Bai Temple, and you can reach Feilixiang Temple, which has a history of over 1400 years,
After visiting Feilai Temple, you can walk back along the same route, or you can rent a small boat from the riverside people to return to Bai Temple, blow the river breeze, watch the shimmering reflections on the water, and appreciate the scenery of the two banks of the mountains, and indulge in the experience of 'Wave-Riding on the Fei River' – how can such beauty be described in one word?
