Poetry and Distance, Dreams of the Prairie – Karashu!
The snow mountain is at close range, the vast high mountain forest and grassland, watching the snow mountain eating lamb hot pot, stargazing, and watching the sunset.
Qikuishitai is located in Karashu.
Karashu is a very big concept, the scenery along the way to Qikuishitai is all the scenery of Karashu, but it should be different from the attractions in Karashu Scenic Area.
The nearest town to Qikuishitai is Tekes. From Tekes to Qikuishitai, the distance is about 100 kilometers, but it takes more than 4 hours to drive on a winding mountain road, passing over two mountains, and the road becomes worse as you get closer to the pastoral village. The last 20-30 kilometers is a pothole road.
Qikuishitai has no mobile signal, there are no gas stations along the way, so it is recommended to fill up the oil in Tekes before entering Qikuishitai.
Electricity is unstable, with limited power supply for a limited time each day, the power cuts off from 8 pm to midnight. Charge your devices in the available time.
On the day of departure, we filled our bellies in Yining and drove south to Tekes.
Yining to Tekes is a one-way trip, passing through a Tekes tunnel. Above the tunnel there is a viewing point – Tekes Dasaka.
Dasaka, in the Uyghur and Mongolian languages, means high and winding road. For us photographers, we love to find high places, so we couldn't miss this Tekes Dasaka.
However, the Tekes Dasaka signpost is really funny, if it weren't for the strong navigation of GaoDe, we really would have missed this place. Because, driving from Yining to Tekes, you can't see the Dasaka signpost, but the road to Tekes Dasaka is on this side, only by driving from Tekes to Yining, when you are close to the Tekes tunnel, there is a signpost indicating a small road to go up to Dasaka.
This setting is really crazy, making us feel lost on the highway, always feeling that something is wrong, but we have to drive like this!
The top of Dasaka has a parking platform and many pennants. As we eagerly headed to the viewing platform to admire the scenery, we were shocked by the scenery in front of us and greatly disappointed. We turned around and returned, continuing to Qikuishitai.
In Tekes, we found accommodation not in the village, we had to go through the village to drive up to the mid-mountain.
We arrived at Yunhai Shan Zhuang, after the bumpy drive, we finally arrived here.
Here you can see snow mountains, grasslands, and most importantly, there is lamb hot pot!
